Our Mission
At Global Reef Foundation Inc., our mission is to safeguard and restore the world’s ocean and coastal reefs through dedicated research, community engagement, and collaborative action. As a newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Florida, we are driven by a passionate commitment to preserving these vital marine ecosystems. Our goal is to support initiatives that document, study, build, and maintain reefs, ensuring their resilience and health for future generations.
Our Vision
Coral reefs are some of the most diverse and vibrant ecosystems on the planet, providing essential benefits to marine life and coastal communities alike. However, these incredible environments face numerous threats, from climate change to pollution. We envision a world where coral reefs are not only protected but are thriving, supported by a global network of dedicated individuals and local organizations working together for their conservation.
Our Approach
We believe that effective reef conservation starts with local action and collaboration. Our approach is built on four key pillars:
- Document: We gather and analyze data to monitor reef health and biodiversity, providing crucial insights that guide our conservation efforts and track progress over time.
- Study: Through scientific research, we deepen our understanding of reef ecosystems, their challenges, and the best practices for their restoration and maintenance.
